Network Systems provides internetworking solutions for military communications networks. These solutions enable migration to modern network technologies while leveraging existing network infrastructure investments. The primary focus is on designing, developing, and delivering specialized network solutions within the architecture of the industry's most flexible, robust, and scalable Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) integrated access devices. Specifically, NSD has developed several applications for network interoperability of legacy to modern commercial network services. NSD is addressing the internetworking and migration issues posed by the legacy systems to IP/digital based networks.

Protocol Converters DRS Codem offers products for flexibility in interconnecting signals of various protocols. These conversions translate and interconnect between a large number of commercial standard signal protocols. An example might be the translation and interconnection of a T1 QSIG protocol to a circuit with T1 R1 signaling. CTM-100/B CTM-100/C The CTM-100 Product Line is the leading tactical converter of CDI, NRZ and Fiber in the military market space. CDI - NRZ - Fiber Optic Modems DRS Codem offers solutions for the conversion of Conditioned Diphase (CDI), Non-return to Zero (NRZ) and Fiber optic interfaces. The CTM-100 product line is the leading tactical protocol converter addressing these conversion in any direction. The product line maintains the greatest feature set, the smallest and lightest form factor and the best price point. DRS Codem has also designed and manufactured custom fiber optic modems under contract. DNVT/DSVT Interface DRS Codem offers the rare ability to engineer solutions for interconnecting commercial telephony systems and IP interfaces with legacy military DNVT and DSVT tactical telephones. Codem has existing products that provide this interconnection and can offload this capability onto other platforms. Multiplexers DRS Codem maintains a core offering of multiplexers that combine commercial voice and data platforms with military unique voice and data interfaces packaged for rack mount installation or in ruggedized transit cases. Codem multiplexers have improved commercial and tactical communications networks around the world over the past 10 years. These systems are card populated and can be configured for robust variety of voice and data traffic.
