The DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) delivers the latest optical technology in a standards based cPCI card. This compact DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) enables two fiber conversions in one small footprint, offering more flexibility at a great value. Seamlessly interfacing with existing DS3 technology, the DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) is fully interoperable with legacy equipment and does not require modification to the SEP.
The DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) extends the distance between two DS3 interfaces greater than 16 km. The DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) converts the coax cable based DS3 signal into a standards based optical data stream. The optical data stream is transmitted over tactical Fiber Optic cable assemblies. Our DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) is fully compatible with legacy DS3 technology and will interface with any compatible receiver (e.g. the Moog DS3 Fiber Optic Modem) at the other end of the link.
Designed with up to date DS3 and Fiber Optic Components, the DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) features a fully integrated design in industry standard packaging. The result is higher performance, greater reliability and twice the conversion capability of previously fielded DS3 Fiber Optic Modem (FOM) devices all at a lower cost.
