DRS's FAC-50 is your embedded antenna control and servo motor drive solution. The embedded design allows the six-and-a-half-pound unit to mount directly to your antenna platform, eliminating the need for expensive and heavy cable runs to traditional rack-mount antenna controllers. An Ethernet interface allows the user to monitor and control the antenna from anywhere on the local or wide area network.
The FAC-50 has two independent axes of control. Each axis has resolver and encoder feedback for motor velocity and pedestal position feedback, up to 12 amps of continuous motor drive currents, digital input/output (I/O) for axis limits and safety interlocks. A built-in three-axis inclinometer handles antenna offsets for setup error in transportable systems. If operating on-the-move (OTM), the FAC-50 will communicate with external 3-axis gyro stabilization, global positioning system (GPS) and compass for shipboard and vehicle-mount terminals. Optional gyro/compass/GPS module available. The FAC-50 also has a built-in L-band beacon receiver for closed-loop radio frequency (RF) tracking on satellites. The Windows® user interface comes complete with easy-to-use satellite databases and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) two-line element (TLE) update tools for program track functions.
This flexible architecture provides the ability to control pedestals for Satellite Communications (SATCOM), datalink, radar and Electronic Intelligence/Signal Intelligence (ELINT/SIGINT) applications. Custom packaging options available upon request.
